Got the laptop back slightly overcharged, and as you say, will stay at that charge. Used it on battery to get back to 60% and it will stay there as long as I boot the laptop on battery power first then connect the power. Still not sure if this setting at 60% or 80% prolongs the life or not. It just sat there quite happily at whatever level it was at and only discharged once I was using battery power. Haven't got the use of my ASUS laptop for now but as the battery is Blog Windll reduced to 60% charge by software it might be worth letting the battery charge to full first then check the battery's wear.
